How to transport a bicycle to Burning Man

Getting your bike to Burning Man is easy. Here are some basic ways to transport your bike to the playa.

Bike Rack on the Car: there are inexpensive and easy to install bike racks that simply strap on to the trunk or hatchback of a car. These racks are simple and quick to install with just a few straps. There are 2 bike, 3 bike and 4 bike versions. They are inexpensive to buy and you can also rent them from bike shops in Reno to use with a rental car.

The 2 bike trunk rack is easy to mount on your vehicle.
The 4 bike rack. This type of flexible bike rack will just as easily mount on an SUV, hatchback or car trunk.

Hitch Rack on the bumper: these racks are even easier to use by just inserting them into the receiver on your bumper (if you have one).

5 bike hitch rack. Many rental cars and especially SUVs have a receiver built in.

Pickup Truck or Utility Trailer: just throw a moving pad or thick blanket over the tailgate and you’re in business! You can purchase a specially made pad for this purpose also.

Inside of a car, SUV or van: just take the front wheel off and slide ‘er in (if you have room).

Just take off the front wheel and a bike fits nicely inside of a SUV or van.
The back seat option.
A bike will go into the trunk or boot also.
